Welcome to My Shalom Online

My Shalom Online — It’s Not Just a Website, It’s an Online Congregation

Shalom Hebraic Christian Congregation is a brick-and-mortar congregation that meets in Kingwood, Texas.  My Shalom Online is Shalom’s internet outreach, and we would love to have you join one of our online study groups.  My Shalom Online allows you to see and speak with other online members to study the Bible, interact with one another, and learn more about the Jewish roots of Christianity.

Here’s How It Works

While donations are certainly welcome, there is no charge for these services.

Meetings - Meetings are held online in small group video conferences. You will need a webcam, a microphone (preferably a headset mike), and high speed internet access in order to participate.

Pastoral Care - You can join My Shalom Online even if you have another place of worship. If My Shalom Online will be your primary place of worship, you will be assigned a web pastor. If you already have another pastor elsewhere, we will ask you whether or not you would also like online pastoral support.

Communication - Online pastors will stay in touch with individual members through video conferencing, phone, and e-mail.

Prayer - Members of My Shalom Online are supported in prayer by the intercessors of Shalom.

Accountability - Our senior pastor is Rabbi Mort Petrushansky. The staff pastor in charge of My Shalom Online is Margot Armer, and the youth pastor is Austin Chandler. As the internet congregation grows, additional web pastors will be recruited from the many ordained ministers who attend Shalom.

Why Join an Internet Congregation?

Internet congregations offer advantages that local congregations can’t. For example:

  • My Shalom Online enables far-flung friends and family members to worship together by attending the same web meetings.
  • Shut-ins are often able to attend an online congregation even when they aren’t able to travel to a local place of worship.
  • My Shalom Online allows members of other congregations to learn about the Jewish roots of Christianity while still remaining faithful to their local congregations.
  • An Internet Congregation enables Shalom to “go ye into all the world” all the time, not just when we are able to go on mission trips.
